First Camping Trip at McIver 5-11-07

This is the girls' bunk area before we got going. See how clean and neat it is? That lasted about 30 seconds. They had a blast though and they did help clean up once in awhile.
Papa helping Marli (L) and Jaelyn (R) with their s'mores. We had to have them both nights we were gone. They love roasting the marshmallows. And of course, they love the fire.

This is a morning fire. It was pretty darned cold on Sunday morning and we needed to have a fire to get going. We took enough wood for two night fire and a morning fire and could have stayed another day but it was nice to have it there.

Papa resting after breakfast. He cooked the bacon out on the pan on the grill. He even cooked the eggs out there the first morning but Sunday we cooked the pancakes and eggs in the house.

Don't look too closely at the bed. The girls are drinking their morning cocoa and Grandma is trying to stay warm. I'm not much for jumping out of a perfectly warm bed just to put on cold clothes. Summer can't come soon enough for me.

This is our bed at the back of the house. We have a really nice awning, and a grill that hooks onto the trailer and hooks to the trailer propane. We had a good chance to use the heater, the hot water tank and all the facilities except the shower. There was a nice one in the campground so we used it. Can't wait to get out again. It was sure nice to be back in nature again.
We walked many miles around the park going to and from the river and checking out all the wildlife - moles, snails, ducks, geese, slugs, fish, birds and bugs. Lots of pretty flowers and great trees, too. It was a great nature weekend.
