In spite of the snow, Mike, Joann, Marli and Jaelyn came to our house for Christmas Eve. We had our big dinner, opened gifts and had a good time. The girls seemed to be pleased with their gifts. It was fun to watch them open the presents. Then they have a Santa morning at home. We spent Christmas day with friends as did Mike and Joann. We had neighbors in who couldn't get out to be with family. We had a pot luck dinner and there was enough food to feed the whole neighborhood. We got to know some of our newest neighbors and it was a good time. There were all sorts of desserts and candy so no one left empty handed.
Then on Saturday, we drove to Hood River to spend the weekend with Clarity, Steve and Michelle. She loves getting presents and she sure showed us how to play. She's just as attached to her Papa as Marli and Jaelyn are. Marli says it's because she knows that her Papa will never tell her No. I think she's too young to realize that but there's something about Papa that they love. When he's around, no one else matters.
We loved waking up to a lot less snow on Sunday, after it rained all night. The weather here is so strange. We went from 2 feet of snow and ice to nearly nothing overnight with slightly warmer temps and the rain. We were relieved that our days of shoveling snow appear to be over at this time.
